Writer Needed
by List Nigeria Project
(Nigeria/USA)
We are looking for someone with good writing and grammar skills to write/re-write short profiles for use as web content. This is for an about-to-be-launched website that seeks to present Nigeria in better light.
Information needed is already available and the chosen individual will be directed to it. Content to be written or re-written will be presented in clear, crisp and concise language that is at once readable and informative.
Individuals likely to be suitable for this project are:
* Practising journalists.
* Graduates/students of mass communication, art or social science disciplines.
* Any individual with a flair for good writing.
Please note that the position is temporary and schedule is flex-time, meaning that it can be pursued at your own pace, in your own free time, and in your own space, provided you meet the deadlines for delivery on the subjects you are assigned to write about. But opportunities exist for continuous engagement with the right persons.
Note also that access to the internet is required as you will need to do at least limited research on such websites as google.com and wikipaedia.com.
To apply, send an email to admin@listnigeria.com stating why you are qualified. All inquiries are confidential and must be received no later than December 31, 2010.
Writing sample:
* If available, include at least one link to anything you wrote that is published on the internet.
OR
* Write a sample piece (of about 300 words) on the subject "Improving Nigeria's Image in the World" and paste in the body of your email inquiry (no email attachment, please).
Remuneration is above average.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
