SOFTWARE JOBS IN NIGERIA - JOB TITLE: Software Solutions Architect (SSA)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Software Solutions Architect has primary responsibility for research; planning and development of software solutions. Software Solutions Architect has a direct reporting line to the Director of Technologies. The key tasks are development and implementation of strategic initiatives and marketing plans for existing as well as new products that are consistent with company sales/profit objectives. The Product Manager will be given full P&L responsibility for his/her product category and will be expected to manage all aspects of product lifecycles from introduction to maturity and exit strategy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Researches, designs, and writes software to specifications, either individually or leading a team of other developers

• Plan ongoing feature development, product maintenance, and management of development teams

• Works with clients and Business Analysts to determine software requirements and system impacts • Investigates new technologies and techniques and researches ongoing industry developments

• Be held responsible and accountable for development deliverables

• Be able to clearly convey technical ideas to the development team

• Contribute as a hands-on developer

• Communicate technical constraints and decisions to the business.

• Define technical infrastructure.

• Translate business requirements and product vision into application architecture.

• Enhances existing software by analyzing and identifying areas for optimization or refactoring

• Generates technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests

• Assists with application maintenance by monitoring and correcting software defects

• Mentors junior developers in industry best practices, procedures, and concepts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or any related discipline.

Experience: A minimum of least 3 years active software development experience and /or software solutions design and architectural experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Must possess all skills as of the Software Solutions Developers (SSD) Knowledge of Agile Project Management Principles is required

• Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language is required

• Knowledge of Software design Patterns is required

• Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration principles is required

• Knowledge of Cruse Control will be an added advantage

• Strong knowledge of Software Configurations Management principle is required

• Knowledge of Subversion will be an added advantage

• Knowledge in writing tests is required
