Primary Duties:

• Supports the project and site/facility management in fulfilling their Environmental Health and Safety responsibilities.
• Coordinates the project EH&S effort with the company and client requirement.
• Maintains a current knowledge on OSHA Standard, client safety standard and company safety standard.
• Administers project EH&S policies and procedures with focus on potentially hazardous operations and emphasizing proactive solution.
• Communicates to the project management team the progress of the safety program.
• Participates in a formal weekly EH&S inspection program with a document report reflecting safety discrepancies and recommendations for appropriate corrective actions by the responsible party.
• Attends and provides safety input into Weekly Supervisors Safety Meeting.
• Administers the Project Environmental Health and Safety Program.
• Evaluates and distributes project incident reports health and safety reports and records of achievement to the site project manager.
• Assists in the investigation of all accidents, injuries / illnesses fire property damage and other related incidents and issues reports as required.

Site Specific Duties:

• Enforce company site safety rules and regulations in the worksite.
• Conduct first day at work safety orientation to all newly hired employees and subcontractors.
• Conduct safety toolbox meeting to all project workers prior to start of work together with field supervisors.
• Participate in weekly safety audit together with all members of safety committee.
• Participate in monthly and weekly safety committee meeting with all members of safety committee.
• Administer the preparation and monitoring of work permits prior to start of operation as required by the client.
• Ensure that all firefighting equipments are in excellent condition at all times.
• Provide advice and counsel to all employees regarding compliance with site safety requirements of the project.
• Preparation of safety statistics and updating of project safety information board.
• Supervise the preparation of various safety signs and installation of safety barricades as required inside the worksite.
• Conducting safety inspection of lifting gears, portable power tools and hand tools in monthly basis.
• Prepare all necessary permits needed in construction project.
• Attend the pre job planning meeting with the client with regards to the assigned project
• Act as a secretary of HSE Committee.
• Supervise all construction activities such as excavation, concrete pouring, crane and heavy equipment operation, hot work and cold works operation.
• Monitor safety standards and audits activities and facilities.
• Promotions of safety awareness, safety campaign and devising safety training and education for staff and employees.
• Supervised and appraised accident investigation.
• Planned and directed regular programs of safety inspection.
• Reviewed procedure for compliance with applicable laws and safety codes.
• Issued regular reports showing safety performance and accident trends.
• Secured and renewed specific permits for plants and other specific works such as lifting permit, hot work permit, lock out/tag out permit, confined space entry permit.

• Reviewed work/job methods to identify hazards and recommend safe procedure.
• Carried out site surveys to see that only safe work methods are used in operations; that health and safety requirements are being observed; and that facility are adequate and properly maintained.
• Determined cause/s of incident/s or dangerous occurrence and recommended means to prevent recurrence.
