Risk Management and Quality coordinator • Responsible for staff training • Conduct and analyze surveillance of nosocomial infections and out breaks • Conduct epidemiological studies • Work as a consultant for implementing hospital TQM • Investigates infection control problems and arranges for follow-up care for persons exposed to infection or disease • Conduct and analyze surveillance of nosocomial infections and out breaks. • Establish, implement and maintain the department's policies, procedures, protocols, and work instructions. • Identify as promptly as possible potential infection and fire hazards in patients, staff or equipment within his/her department • Collaborate with the infection control committee in investigating safety issues, outbreaks, conducting surveys, visiting kitchens and catering establishments, monitoring special units, collecting microbiological samples, preparing reports for the ICC, clinicians and hospital management, and assisting in research projects • Assist in developing and applying accident and incident trends and target high-risk areas for priority attention. • Participate in the development and implementation of the quality improvement program. • Implement a hospital culture that reflects continuous improvement • Contribute to the change process within the organization • Provide advice and guidance with regard to general safety and health matters • Schedule and perform regular audits per year of relevant wards in units to ensure that polices are being carried out in accordance with hospital policy • Responsible for investigating safety issues, outbreaks, conducting surveys, visiting kitchens and catering establishments, monitoring special units, collecting microbiological samples, preparing reports for the ICC, clinicians and hospital management, and assisting in research projects • Assist in the preparation of the financial reports including actual expenditure and year to date. • Assist in producing and updating infection control and safety policies and guidelines. • Offer advice on purchase and decontamination of equipment and on planning and capital projects • Collect, assess, analyze data and use outcome for improvement • Implement occupational health and safety principles and procedures. • Adopt preventive and corrective actions to avoid occupational health and safety related accidents. • Perform weekly sampling review of patient medical records to evaluate staff compliance with policies and standards • Carry out leadership practices (i.e. promoting teamwork, encouraging consultation, collaboration and communication, role modeling, mentoring, supporting) • Identify, implement and evaluate change management (i.e. practices and procedures) as assistance to the Director of Nursing
