HVAC ENGINEER

The HVAC Engineer will be responsible for HVAC design, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities.

Design & Engineering activities include concept development & detailed design of HVAC system including cooling load estimation, equipment sizing /selection (including. pump head estimation, external static pressure estimation for pumps & air handling equipment etc.), sizing and development of schematics & lay out drawings-for cooling water system, chilled water generation and distribution system (including primary, secondary and tertiary chilled water circuits/district cooling systems with variable flow), Air distribution systems and BMS, value engineering, extensive co ordination with electrical, plumbing & fire fighting services during development & finalization of coordinated services layouts.
Involve Preparation of Specification documents including BOQ estimation, cost estimation for entire HVAC system & BMS, floating enquiry, techno-commercial evaluation of bids/quotation, negotiation/ discussion with vendors, preparation & approval of material submittals, purchase recommendation/ order placement, Cost control etc.
Construction activities involve Project schedule & resource planning, Co-ordination (Co-ordination with client, consultant, architect, electrical & plumbing depts., interior designer, vendors, contractors and other agencies) to sort out Engineering & Coordination issues for MEP services, preparation & approval of method statements, monitoring site work progress, assistance in inspection, testing and commissioning of HVAC system.

Specific Responsibilities:

•Lead the design of HVAC systems for buildings
•Attain project team alignment to make decisions regarding HVAC basis of design issues
•Check contractor work for compliance to Company standards and specifications
•Ensure compliance with industry regulations for HVAC systems
•Support the equipment procurement process from engineering through acceptance testing
•Evaluate equipment selection with respect to facility life, cost, and maintainability
•Supervise HVAC vendors in system commissioning and startup activities including any regulatory testing, at the shipyard, integration yard, and offshore commissioning
•Oversee development of commissioning and operating procedures for the HVAC equipment and systems
•Provide mechanical engineering support for the design, procurement, and commissioning of equipment in the deck box and supplemental support for topsides building HVAC systems

Desired Experience:
•BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
•Minimum of 5 years of HVAC design experience
•Offshore HVAC experience – floating platforms and/or ships
•Familiar with codes and standards – USCG, ABS, ASHRAE, NFPA
• Proficient in Auto CAD
