Human Resources Development Manager
A major Energy/Construction contractor has a requirement for an Human Resources (HR) Development Manager in Nigeria.
The Job Holder leads the management and development of national and expatriate human resources to meet business needs, and establishes best-practice HR policies across the group of companies.
Principal responsibilities:
The Job Holder develops and executes Group HR strategy and embeds Group HR policies:
1. Manpower planning, recruitment and development:
Develops standard methods of candidate profiling, evaluation and interviewing
Establishes career development programmes for key managers
Translates business strategies into resource requirements to meet business needs
Ensures establishment of appropriate Job Descriptions for all key positions
Coordinates recruitment with local and overseas head hunters
Initiates benchmarking of remuneration packages etc across employment markets
Coordinates and maintains succession planning
2. Contracts, remuneration & benefits, performance & loyalty incentives:
Develops standard employment contracts across Group, inc employee rights, discipline, termination etc and develops a Handbook
Develops and installs an incentive reward schemes.
Establishes a consistent Group R&B structure that permits different remuneration levels for different industries
Coordinates relationships with trades unions and Ministry of Labour
3. Specific operating roles:
Be Trustee of ND’s (upcoming) Employee Trust and Community Trus
Coordinate Sea-School development with GEC
Be “Trustee” of ND Training School
4. Additional responsibilities
Depending on professional background and experience, the Job Holder could later assume Group responsibility, if time permitted, for: XYZ?
Reporting
Job Holder reports administratively to Group Executive Chairman (GEC). He/she has contact with: Board members, MDs and senior managers, Divisional HR Managers and Officers.
SKILL REQUIREMENT
The Job Holder MUST:
• Win respect of MDs and other managers.
• Be able to work effectively through others to get things done
• Be an HR professional with successful experience at HR Director level or equivalent, and preferably general management experience
• Have Nigeria experience, or equivalent
• Have the maturity and sensitivity to understand groups current ways of working, yet be able and willing to lead a process of change.
5 to 15 year work experience
• Be a “people person”.

SALARY/BENEFITS : $100,000 - $120,000
