Head of Marketing Job

Reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate 9 preferably from one of the eastern states of Nigeria) will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of diverse brands for the Company (with companies in various industries ¡V including Real Estate, Energy and Manufacturing). He/She will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams in the implementation of brand and product designs and for managing the activities, initiatives and processes pertaining to managing brand through their lifecycle

Job description:
BRAND DEVELOPMENT
ƒÞ Lead the process for developing new brands for the Company (based on strategic guidelines) and co-ordinate the cross-functional team involved in developing brand outlines and attributes.
ƒÞ Lead Product and Brand Design initiatives and activities. Define and implement the marketing elements of new product/brands/services, including target customers, pricing, promotions, etc.

BRAND MANAGEMENT
ƒÞ Coordinate the management of the Company¡¦s brand portfolio through the lifecycle of the brands.
ƒÞ Ensure the achievement of the Company¡¦s marketing objectives, as defined by Management.
ƒÞ Track and monitor brand performance and develop and implement action plans to align brand positioning and performance with strategic and business objectives.

MARKTEING COMMUNICATIONS
ƒÞ Develop and implement Marketing programs to achieve business objectives and progressively build the awareness and brand recognition of the brands in the Company¡¦s portfolio.
ƒÞ Lead the Marketing communications process from development of RFPs and Marketing Briefs through to confirmation of media execution.
ƒÞ Interface with media vendors, suppliers and business partners for all the Company¡¦s marketing related activities.
ƒÞ Provide Subject Matter Expertise to enable the optimal and effective structuring and negotiation of media-related contracts/agreements involving the Company.


MARKET ANALYSIS AND INSIGHTS (MICRO)
ƒÞ Conduct analysis on the markets in which the Company operates (on a micro level) and provide Marketing Subject Matter Expertise as inputs into planning activities.
ƒÞ Assess trends and characteristics of markets in which the Company operates (on a micro level) and develop insights on these markets and recommendations for actions.
ƒÞ Provide periodic marketing reports to Management

JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QULAIFICATION:
ƒÞ Completion of a Masters Degree
ƒÞ Higher degree(s) qualification(s) in Marketing, Communications or similar field.

EXPERIENCE:
ƒÞ Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, some of which must include top- level Marketing (or related) functions in recognized organizations.

MISCELLANEOUS:
ƒÞ Must not be older than 40 years old.
ƒÞ Must be a high calibre professional with a good outlook

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
ƒÞ Professional written and verbal communication skills
ƒÞ Ability to motivate teams to produce quality output and simultaneously manage several initiatives
ƒÞ Ability to participate in and lead/facilitate group meetings
ƒÞ Experience and involvement in developing and managing major brands
ƒÞ Knowledge of the operations and interrelationships of media agencies and other industry stakeholders

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
ƒÞ Experience in strategic planning and execution
ƒÞ Knowledge of contracting and negotiating
ƒÞ Ability to analyze diverse data sets and develop insights and recommendations for further action
ƒÞ A good knowledge of Accounting, as well as, cash management, project financing and project management
ƒÞ Skill in examing and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
