Adeola Olubamiji - Biomedical Engineer

by ADEOLA DEBORAH OLUBAMIJI
(Tampere, Finland)

I am writing to indicate my interest in the position of a biomedical engineering. I developed a high magnitude of enthusiasm after sighting the scope, skills and abilities required for this position. I am Adeola Olubamiji, a 2nd year master’s degree student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tampere University of Technology, Finland. I majored in Medical Physics with a spectrum of knowledge that cuts across Medical imaging, Medical therapy devices, Human anatomy and physiology, Bio electromagnetism, Medical Image analysis, Modeling of physiological systems, to mention a few. However, my minor field of study is in biomaterials and this cuts across tissue engineering, biodegradable polymers, drug delivery devices and polymer processing.
Having studied Physics with electronics in my Bachelors, I have been exposed to calibrations, design and maintenance of electronics and equipments in general. In addition, I gained good instrumentation engineering knowledge while having internship at Deltafrik Engineering Ltd. in Nigeria, where we chose, maintain and calibrate oil and gas related equipment.
This unique mix of studies and my person, has served to my advantage as an edge above colleagues and fellows in the field of biomedical engineering. I have been voluntarily working as a research assistant for Prof. Jari Hyttinen who is the head of department of Biomedical Engineering Department at Tampere University of Technology. This opportunity has provided me with the requisite exposure in a research environment and has created a spark in me that I can be very useful on greater platforms on the field, if given the opportunity.

I made it a point of duty to get across to you as I am able to work in this field of medical imaging which is where my passion lies. I am currently working on my thesis “Cone- Beam Computed Tomography Image Quality Assessment using different custom-made filters” which focuses of quality assessment, filter changing and recalibration on Scanora 3D which is a Dental Cone Beam 3D X-ray system with dedicated panoramic imaging. The experiments were carried out on cadaver heads and ear blocks and all necessary experiments had been performed.
My Master’s programme is near completion as I have just finished my examinations this May and have completed 95% of the total 90ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) of coursework with 2 more courses which will be completed in by Autumn Semester. Therefore no doubt should arise on your part, of resuming the job immediately, hence my consideration for this part-time job should not for any reason whatsoever be impeded, should I meet your standard for recruitment.
I am confident that with my academic background, work and research experiences will be an important asset for me to deliver as required successfully. As an individual, I have shown good interpersonal skills, ability to co-ordinate with little or no supervision, a good team player, good stress management and maximum interaction with people of diverse cultural and racial backgrounds.
Yours faithfully,
Adeola Olubamiji
